It is not in the mandate of the British Film Institute or the DCMS to destroy the independent film industry and yet they are doing their level best to do just that.

Not only the £120 000 had to be written off as a loss but the losses on the earnings and legal proceedings are now nearing half a million and more. The role of the Bfi is not to destroy the British film industry or to cause an embezzlement on behalf of a government's department. Judging by the many posts released by the Head of the Certification Unit -all copied- she suffered from mental health issues. Has she been let down by her employer?

The ransacking occurred on U.S. servers so we reported the matter to the FBI and Anna Mansi stood accused of cyber crime and malicious intent which are criminal charges. The Bfi is a "quango" of the DCMS -government department- and the only way to reverse the situation is to sue the DCMS in the Supreme Court.
For 20 years the film unit has always been chaotic but the team has met with great and outstanding civil servants that made it all bearable until everything exploded out of control.

Not only did the then £120 000 audit have evaporated but the earnings and proceeds from the film not to mention the work of 25 people. A whole accounting nightmare. It is the definition of embezzlement.
The main controversy about the Certification Unit is that there is no law to force the unit to certify a film. It is just taken for granted that a film which does achieve the amount of points will be certified. In this instance a further expensive process occurred: a writer's report, a lawyer's report and an audit (materialising the fact that there is a cost that must then be accounted for then be taxed on it regardless). With all the "extra" requested, one begins to wonder if the members of the team were indeed qualified in basic numeracy and literacy. By this stage there was an understanding that the film would be certified but Anna Mansi -I demand to see her CV on basic numeracy and literacy grounds - mistook one film for another.

The film "DM: Dark Matter" for some weird and mysterious reasons has been a long and strenuous process from the onset: it needed a writer's report, a lawyer's report and an audit (for £120 000) plus a certification that the film has been made in the UK. In twenty years, the same team achieved enough points to bypass all this.
That same Head went on a rampage: as "figure of authority" a division of the Bfi -the British FIlm Institute- she deleted the film on IMDb, then Amazon and Apple in the middle of a long and painstaking labour of outputting the CCs and subtitles in 6 languages has suddenly been banned. The theatrical distributor pulled the film out as well.
The film didn't exist so there was nothing to complain about.

The way the team approached this was to ask one of the actors -John Waterhouse- to retell the conversation from his point of view to someone else. Printed on paper the dialogue was coarse and beyond reason but that was the whole point.
The other female members of the team, Janet Priest and Jane D'Arbanville went berserk and so did Nick Peterson -the main author- and demanded an exchange and debate regarding this screenplay. Anna Mansi decided on behalf of the government that the other film "DM: Dark Matter" must be banned. As an act of retaliation, gross stupidity or perhaps the Head of the Certification Unit may have been unwell but mental health has no excuse in this case. We complained but a process that is so British and demented; the complaint goes to the same person.

In 2022, the film: "DM: Dark Matter" was completed and we applied for a film tax credit, a way to generate some funding and to register the film. At the same time another film "Old Nick" was being filed. The Head of the Certification Unit from the Bfi -British Film Institute- eavesdropped on the application for "Old Nick" filed as a game. For twenty years the certification unit has been plagued by disorganisation, confusing games for films and failing to understand the process.
Anna Mansi, the Head of the Certification Unit, panicked when she saw the screenplay to Old Nick. She was entitled to "eavesdrop" and she was entitled to comment "Please inform us next time before we read the content" A Big warning mention was displayed on the front of the screenplay and before the "offending" text. No one can do better than this.
The "offending text" was a dialogue reported verbatim by the author from a conversation he heard in the streets between 3 kids -age 9-10- from a comprehensive school in Kennington, London. The subject matter was what they would do to a woman and a gay man. The evolution of language in the 21st century knows no bounds and as contemporary filmmakers, we report the moment and that is generally what films -as in motion picture- stand for.

By understanding the incomprehensible, like situation that ends up blowing up "Stratford City", we can start understanding dark matter and travel through it.
Different people go through different situations in order to reach Dark Matter, some through cancer but once they have accepted this, it's easy: we're all going to die at some point -as they say-. Terrorists are keen to leave this world very quickly as life for them is hell and Dark Matter is Heaven.
We are all together marching, floating and flying in unison without clash of thought or opinion, unmetered by the human clock, multiple layers all blended together. Wandering down the centuries that were gone and up the centuries about to unfold. No differences, no preferences, all equal and merging together: this is the transition, the transition to Netherland and into infinity.

"The explosion we have just witnessed is on the scale of Hiroshima. Never in London since Hitler's V2 rockets, a destruction of such magnitude had destroyed parts of England.
We now know something of what triggered the explosion. We know from the CCTV footage from a nearby underground car park in Stratford that they were three terrorists involved.
As we are only started to place the pieces of this story together, it appears that two of them were white supremacists; one right wing and one radical left who is one Islamist fundamentalist.
It also appears that they might have met to initially settle a score but the Islamic had the upper hand and managed to blow up the whole of "Stratford City".

The meaning of Dark Matter
A form of matter accounting for about 85% of the universe and about a quarter of its total.energy density. It was first acknowledged throughout astrophysical observations, including gravitational effects that cannot be explained. It has been called "dark" as it cannot be detected by standard astrological tools.
It is thought to be referred to as the "negative dimension" as opposed to the "positive dimension" that we all live in and therefore must contain a form of life that defies gravity.
